Wearing and Caring
Your handmade baroque pearl jewellery was made to be lovingly worn. With a little care, they will last for years to come. Please keep the following in mind when wearing and caring for your jewels:
-
Last on, first off. Ensure that your pearl jewellery is the last thing you put on - avoiding contact with creams, sprays, perfume and aerosols – and the first thing you take off at the end of the day.
-
It is not recommended that you wear your pearl jewellery in water, especially not chlorinated pools or hot tubs.
Storing
Please store your jewels in a box or wrapped in a soft cloth to avoid scratching or rubbing up against other hard materials. For sterling silver and 14kt gold filled pieces, place in a sealed plastic bag to limit exposure to humidity in the air and oxidation.
Cleaning
To polish your jewellery, use a microfiber or soft and dry cloth to buff and polish the pearls and metal. If necessary, you may polish pearls with a damp cloth if needed. It is not recommended to clean with acids or chemical cleaners as these can damage the pearls and the metals.
14K Gold filled jewellery: Gently clean your piece with a soft and dry cotton or microfibre cloth. Do not clean with water or chemical cleaners as these will strip away the gold finish. Please note that 14K gold filled materials are susceptible to tarnishing and can be buffed out with a soft cloth.
Sterling Silver and 14K Solid Yellow Gold - You may polish your piece with a soft microfiber cloth. In case of excessive soiling, you can combine a few drops of mild dishwashing soap in a bowl of warm water. If you want to get into fine areas of your piece, gently take a soft bristle toothbrush to it. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. If you want to give your piece an extra shine it can be done with a polishing cloth.
